{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"990301","client":"Parkland","title":"Trauma Outreach Education & Pre-hospital Coordinator","description":"Location: New Parkland Hospital<br><br><b>Work schedule: Full-time Days (40 hours/week), 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Occasion evening and weekends for special schedule events.  </b><br><br><b>Primary Purpose: </b><br>Responsible for providing the Trauma Outreach Educational and Prevention Programs by assisting in program design, implementation, and evaluation of program initiatives.<br><br><b>Minimum Specifications:</b><br><br><b>Requirements <br>Education Requirements</b><br><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree</li><li>Must have a bachelor's degree in nursing</li></ul><br><b>Equivalent Education and/or Experience</b><br><ul><li>Must have four years of progressive nursing experience.</li><li>May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.</li></ul><br><b>Degree/License</b><br><ul><li>Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree and may require a master's degree in a related clinical field.</li><li>Requires clinical license and/or certification typically obtained through advanced education and advanced practical knowledge of job area obtained through extensive clinical experience.</li></ul><br><b>Certification/Registration/Licensure:</b><br><b>*Please Note: All certification cards must provide an expiration date. The expiration date must be more than 30 days from date of hire. Completion of course certificates will not substitute this requirement</b><br><br><b>Required Certifications / Licensure</b><br><ul><li>Must have current RN license or valid temporary license with the Texas Board of Nursing; or valid Compact RN license.</li><li>Must have certification in Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN).</li><li>Must have Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.</li><li>Must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.</li><li>Must maintain an instructor status in TNCC, ATCN, or ENPC<br><br><b>Skills or Special Abilities</b></li><li>Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards.</li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively with professional nursing staff, medical staff and allied health professionals attending classes.</li><li>Must have superior writing skills to compose course outlines, objectives and manuals. Must demonstrate competence in technical skills and knowledge related to Emergency Services.</li><li>Must be organized and creative in the educational process for both individual and large group classes.</li><li>Must have exemplary clinical skills in Emergency and Trauma Nursing.</li><li>Must be able to develop a positive, cooperative working relationship with community providers. Must demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.<br><br><b>Job Accountabilities</b></li><li>Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve community relationships and partnerships through outreach education and prevention strategies.</li><li>Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.</li><li>Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding. <br><br><b>Responsibilities</b></li><li>Coordinates the Trauma Department Outreach Educational programs to ensure customer satisfaction, implementation and monitoring of performance improvement and provides an avenue for increased communication with outside agencies. Provides program design as needed.</li><li>Implements, monitors, evaluates and reports on details regarding the outreach education and prevention programs.</li><li>Serves as a program and community liaison and resource person, performs public speaking and education, etc., that support the missions, goals and objectives of Trauma Center, while establishing and cultivating positive working relationships to maximize interactive cooperative relationships.</li><li>Maintains a database for all outreach educational programs.</li><li>Develops and presents prevention programs and education programs for the community, patients, and staff, while providing patient centered/patient valued care for all internal and external customers of Parkland.</li><li>Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction for patient education. Make recommendations to supervisor, implement and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.</li><li>Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements and trends in emergency nursing and trauma, and prevention strategies by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.</li><li>Serves on committees as requested to serve as an active contributor and participant in achieving Emergency Services education and meeting the Parkland goals. </li></ul><br><b>Other duties assigned.</b><br><b>Career Type: Clinical</b><br><br>Individual contributors who come in direct physical contact with patients and have responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty focused on patient needs and/or delivery of high-quality care. Most of the time is spent on the delivery of clinical care. May spend a portion of their time on implementation or design of clinical processes, programs, services and policies.
