{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"990197","client":"Parkland","title":"Health Information Management Analyst I","description":"Location: Virtual Employee<br><br><b>*Remote Only</b> <b>for the following states: TX, FL (not Miami-Dade), AR, WI*</b><br><br><b>Primary Purpose</b><br><br>Responsible for maintenance, analysis, and review of Electronic Medical Records, in order to ensure effective operations.<br><br><b>Education</b><br><br>&bull;High School Diploma.<br><br><b>Experience</b><br><br>&bull;Must have three (3) years of health care related experience.<br><br><b>Equivalent Education and/or Experience</b><br><br>&bull;May have an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of specified educational and experience requirements.<br><br><b>Certification/Registration/Licensure</b><br><br><b>Required Tests for Placement</b><br><br>&bull;Must pass the Skill check Medical Terminology test with a minimum score of 80%.<br><br>&bull;Must pass the alphanumeric Data Entry test with an accuracy rate of 80%, with minimum keystrokes of 3,000.<br><br>&bull;Must pass the General Computer test with a minimum score of 80%.<br><br><b>Skills or Special Abilities</b><br><br>&bull;Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software applications.<br><br>&bull;Must have strong analytical skills and organizational skills and be detail oriented.<br><br>&bull;Must have a working knowledge of Health Information Management procedures, forms, and content, and be able to comprehend and apply established policy and procedures.<br><br>&bull;Must successfully complete required training and meet prescribed performance standards within 90 days of employment.<br><br>&bull;Must be able to operate a PC and use spreadsheet, word processing, database, and graphics software.<br><br>&bull;Must be able to demonstrate good decision-making skills.<br><br>&bull;Must be detail oriented and exhibit effective organizational skills.<br><br>&bull;Must have good written and oral communication skills with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.<br><br>&bull;Must be able to demonstrate knowledge regarding HIM computer software, including master patient index record tracking, deficiency analysis, release of information, etc.<br><br>&bull;Must have knowledge of medico-legal and regulatory requirements.<br><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><ul><li>Utilizes EPIC computerized master patient index, chart tracking, deficiency analysis, release of information and Electronic Medical Record applications, to create the record, update, verify and review patient medical records numbers and record volume, record location, record history and activity, record completion and requests for release of information.</li><li>Responsible for performing workflow processes and procedures associated with data entry and documentation into EPIC applications and the Electronic Medical Record.</li><li>Reviews clinical documentation and data in EPIC applications, the Electronic Medical Record and the paper medical record in order to process requests for medical records and to satisfy regulatory audits.</li><li>Analyzes and audits patient medical records to ensure clinical documentation is complete and accurate per established procedures, and identifies and documents medical record quality issues to ensure data integrity.</li><li>Assists providers, patients and customers with medical record documentation review such as deficiency review and completion, audit review, etc.</li><li>Reviews, verifies and authenticates release of information requests to ensure appropriate information release for treatment, payment and health care operations, legal, regulatory, audit and other purposes as appropriate per procedure.</li><li>Prepares, scans, indexes, and performs quality audits on documents in the document imaging system to ensure accuracy and integrity of information.</li><li>Utilizes knowledge of EMR policies and procedures to collect and distribute clinical data reports as requested.</li><li>Identifies ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.</li><li>Maintains knowledge of Parkland procedures that support applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact Health Information Management. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.</li><li>Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of Health Information Management by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.</li><li>Meets productivity, timeliness, and quality standards and goals set by the HIM Division. Provides data for monitoring productivity and outcomes through maintenance of spreadsheets, databases and other documentation procedures.</li><li>This position is 100% Virtual. Virtual employees must also comply with all Parkland policies and procedures governing the use of Parkland information resources. Virtual employees must maintain all equipment lent by Parkland for performing the agreed upon job duties in good working condition.
