Specifications</b><br><br><b>Education</b><br><br><ul><li>None.</li></ul><br><b>Experience</b><br><ul><li>Prefer 6 months of experience in healthcare and/or customer service.</li></ul><br><b>Equivalent Education and/or Experience</b><br><br><b>Certification/Registration/Licensure</b><br><br><b>Must have current CPR-Heart saver course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement from one of the following</b><br><br><ul><li>American Heart Association</li><li>American Red Cross Rescuer</li><li>Military Training Network</li></ul><br><b>Required Tests for Placement</b><br><br><b>Skills or Special Abilities</b><br><br><ul><li>Must be able to read and write.</li><li>Must have very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to represent Parkland in a positive manner.</li><li>Must exhibit caring, service-oriented behaviors toward people encountered and be able to defuse emotionally charged situations.</li><li>Must be able to apply sound judgment to satisfy a variety of questions and problems from patients and visitors.</li><li>Must be able to follow both oral and written directions.</li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel.</li><li>Must have basic math skills.</li><li>Must complete within 90 days of hire and/or placement a Preventive Back Injury & Proper Lift Technique class and demonstrate proficiency.</li></ul><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><br><ul><li>Safely transports patients via stretcher or wheelchair to PHHS departments/areas to help safeguard them while on campus.</li><li>May include the transport of supplies and belongings during discharges within set standards.</li><li>Assists in the transport of critical care patients in coordination with the appropriate clinical staff, e.g., transporting the patient from the ICU to the radiology department.</li><li>Maintains a positive working relationship with other areas of the hospital, nurses, physicians, and other Parkland staff in order to facilitate effective communication.</li><li>Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction.</li><li>Makes recommendations to the supervisor and implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals and mission of Parkland.</li><li>Stays abreast of the latest developments in customer service by attending in-house seminars/workshops and reading internal publications.</li><li>Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.</li><li>Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Patient Transportation area.</li><li>Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans.</li><li>Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.</li></ul><br><b>Job Accountabilities</b><br><br><ul><li>Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction.</li><li>Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.</li><li>Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure.</li><li> Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.</li><li>Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the area.</li><li>Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans.</li><li>Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper
