{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"987757","client":"Parkland","title":"Director of Clinical Applications & Devices","description":"Location: 8435 Stemmons Bldg.<br><br>Primary Purpose<br><br>Responsible for planning, management, budget and personnel activities within an assigned cost center, under the direction of the Information Technology department.<br><br>MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS<br><br>Education<br>- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related healthcare field.<br>- Prefer a Master's degree in a related field.<br><br>Experience<br>- Ten years of experience in an information systems applications environment, to include five years of management experience.<br>- Must have experience with EMR system implementation, prefer full lifecycle experience.<br>- Must possess the ability to solicit and generate technical system integration requirements for solution to be integrated with multiple systems provided by various vendors.<br>- Experience in a minimum of two of the following areas: Acute Care, Ambulatory Systems, Ancillary Systems, Business & Financial Systems, Device Integration, etc.<br>- Must possess a deep understanding of workflow from both clinical and operational perspectives.<br>- Must be highly capable of translating complex business and clinical needs into existing and/or future technologies.<br>- Prior experience implementing and supporting Epic Community Connect is a plus.<br><br>Equivalent Education and/or Experience<br>- May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.<br><br>Certification/Registration/Licensure<br><br>Skills or Special Abilities<br>- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to relate effectively with diverse groups of Parkland employees.<br>- Must have strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.<br>- Must have an understanding of and have worked with some of the newer evolving information technologies and applications software available.<br>- Must be able to demonstrate effective management skills and techniques.<br>- Must be customer service oriented.<br><br>Responsibilities<br><br>1. Working with division management, plans and develops strategies for the overall performance and direction of the assigned cost center and in coordination with other Information Technology resources that support the goals and objectives of Parkland.<br><br>2. Selects, trains, schedules, motivates, supervises, evaluates, and makes recommendations for disciplinary actions up to and including termination, to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge. Ensures assigned employees maintain their certifications and skills to perform current responsibilities and are trained, when appropriate, to assume other duties in IT.<br><br>3. Working with division management, develops, administers, and monitors the departmental budgets (operating, capital, and payroll) for those areas directly under his/her responsibility to ensure that the Information Technology division has the necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives established.<br><br>4. Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of information systems solutions to ensure they provide the needed results for Parkland departments. This includes evaluating and scheduling of requests for revisions and/or additions to existing systems.<br><br>5. Plans, analyzes, and recommends new software and hardware improvements to ensure that the Information Technology systems remains technologically current and Parkland is getting good value for available resources.<br><br>6. Establishes, implements, and enforces departmental and technical standards as they affect their assigned areas of responsibility, to ensure adherence of administrative policies within Parkland.<br><br>7. Identifies and analyzes the design of work processes, systems flows, and systems utilization and implements appropriate changes to improve work effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of the department and Parkland.<br><br>8. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements and trends in Information Technology by attending seminars, reading professional journals, and communicating with other IT professionals. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.<br><br>9. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact Information Technology. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.<br><br>10. Ensures that assigned employees understand how they can individually provide customer service to patients, employees, and vendors by monitoring employee progress to ensure expectations are being met.<br><br>11.
