{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"987701","client":"Parkland","title":"Senior Registered Nurse - HIV Clinic","description":"Location: Southeast Dallas Health Ctr<br><br>Primary Purpose<br><br>The RN is a licensed professional who uses the Parkland nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery, that focuses on a particular patient population(s)/specific health conditions, by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee.<br><br>MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS<br><br><b>Education:</b><br><ul><li>Graduate of a Registered Nursing program,</li><li>Bachelor's in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.</li></ul><br><b>Experience:</b><br><ul><li>Must have two years of nursing experience.</li><li>Prefer experience in an acute care setting.</li></ul><br><b>Equivalent Experience:</b><br><ul><li>May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.</li></ul><br><b>Certification/Registration/Licensure:</b><br><ul><li>Must have current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.</li><li>Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following:</li></ul><br>- American Heart Association<br>- American Red Cross Rescuer<br>- Military Training Network<br><br><b>Skills or Special Abilities:</b><br><ul><li>Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards.</li><li>Must be capable of serving as a clinical resource for staff.</li><li>Must have a working knowledge of assigned department operations including policies and personnel issues.</li><li>Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in working with a diverse population of physicians, patients, nursing staff, management and administration.</li><li>Must demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.</li></ul><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><ul><li>Responsible for monitoring daily management of clinic nursing activities to ensure high quality patient care and optimal outcomes. Develops staff schedules to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to internal and external customers. Maximizes staff coverage through communication with center's nurses and/or float pool coordinator. Supervises time, attendance, and patient care activities of assigned nursing staff. Provides input into the counseling and guidance process, and the performance evaluation process. Delegates tasks effectively. Participates in the selection and orientation of new staff. Ensures that nursing staff in assigned clinic area receive educational opportunities for their personal development. Participates in information exchanges with other lead nurses to support mission and goals of department.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Provides expert care, using independent nursing judgment, to assigned patient population in accordance with established protocols/procedures. Consults with other team members as required and provides nursing care which demonstrates patient centered/patient valued care.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Serves as a patient advocate and point of contact for patients, staff, and external organizations, focusing on patient needs, patient rights, confidentiality, religious, and cultural preferences. Maintains positive working relationships with all Parkland internal and external customers, employees, etc. Serves as an expert clinical resource for patients and other healthcare team members. Serves as a resource for specific clinical patient care issues. Provides patient care educational information and training to patient and family members as appropriate. Assists with patient complaints, guiding them toward resolution, or directing them to the proper resource.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Supervises the maintenance and quality control of all instruments and equipment, ensuring proper function. Reviews various logs and documents as needed. Ensures appropriate corrective action is implemented as needed. Coordinates requisition of supplies and special equipment as needed.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Maintains and implements knowledge of all the rules, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, laws; i.e., Joint Commission, Nurse Practice Act, etc. that impact or govern nursing practice and ensures Parkland is in compliance. Maintains and updates knowledge of sanitation, infection control, safety, supplies, equipment, appropriate utilization of supplies and materials.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Completes appropriate documentation and maintains accurate and timely entries and notations in the medical records that meet the standards, goals, and objectives of the assigned department and Parkland. Monitors quality of nursing documentation. Initiates plan to correct deficiencies.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Follows established protocols and identifies ways to improve work processes and improve patient and customer satisfaction. Modifies approach, communication and interaction to take account of sensory impairments and specific age related needs of all customers. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals and mission of the assigned area and Parkland.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements and trends in nursing practice by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals and actively participating in professional organizations. Maintains State of Texas Licensure in Nursing, plus additional required licensures/certifications. Integrates knowledge gained as appropriate into current work practices.</li></ul><br><ul><li>Recommends and develops policies and procedures related to nursing practice.
